Re: Darian's Wishlist Ideas

Hey Darian, welcome to the forums. It has been quite around here lately but maybe life will return now that someone finally posted a new message :D 1. Fade objects into view versus simply letting them "pop" into view during loading. A smooth opacity fade-in is elegant, and gives an excuse ...

Re: Too much like Active Worlds?

You don't need a Renderware license if you don't use it ;). I built my own engine for VP, it just has the ability to load RWX files. Even Renderware has abandoned the RWX file format a long time ago and AW probably uses it's own code to load RWX files into a newer version of Renderware. You are corr...

Virtual Paradise 0.2.1 released

Version 0.2.1 for Windows is now available from the downloads page. New versions for other operating systems are coming soon. This version is probably a lot more stable and somewhat faster but it lacks some of the features 0.1.5 had.

The new version is available on the download page.

Now the lighting is fixed and the rendering of RWX models is faster as well. :D I also uploaded a screenshot that you can see here: http://www.virtualparadise.org/screens...

Status update

I haven't posted anything new here lately. I decided to rewrite some parts of VP so the 3D engine doesn't depend on wxWidgets. VP used wxWidgets for a lot of non-GUI things like reading zip archives, loading models, loading textures and creating sign textures. I now also use the bot SDK internally, ...
