Virtual Paradise 0.2.13

Version 0.2.13 adds particle emitters, it is far from finished and has some odd bugs but some of you still might want to experiment with it. You can only create the particle emitters from a script at the moment. Here's a screenshot of a particle emitter in Virtual Paradise: http://www.virtualparadis...

Re: VP starts and shut down

Hi, When i try to open VP 0.2.8 on Mac OS X 10.3 it starts but shut down directly. VP is untested on Mac OS X 10.3, you could try looking at the log files and posting it here. You can look at the log files using Console which is in /Applications/Utilities. I don't have a machine running 10.3 so it ...

Re: Ubuntu

How long will it take to install ubuntu? I would like to know how long it will take.to install ubuntu. Right now its stuck coying the files at 24% for the last 15 minutes, is that normal? An estimate would be very helpful. Thanks. Installing Virtual Paradise shouldn't take long, probably less then ...

Re: Ubuntu

I just installed Virtual Paradise on a clean Ubuntu 9.04 installation, and it doesn't start. Not using the icon or using the terminal. In the terminal I get the following: edwin@edwin-desktop:~$ virtualparadise virtualparadise: error while loading shared libraries: liblua5.1.so.0: cannot open shared...

Re: Ubuntu

What version of Ubuntu are you using? I think the one on the download page was built using 8.10 but I'm not entirely sure. It worked fine on 9.04 for me. It's probably returning an error message, one you can only see when you run the program from the command line. Could you try running it that way? ...

Re: my path

It works on Windows 2000 for the most part, except for the chat. VP uses a version of the rich edit control that came with Windows XP SP1. You could try downloading msftedit.dll yourself but I'm not sure if that would work on 2000. You'll be able to use everything else in the program, I'll try to ad...

Re: my path

Ok, thanks :)

VP doesn't really have working avatars at the moment, still working on the animated models. Theres just a placeholder for each avatar walking around in a world.

If you want you can test VP too, I'll create an account for you if you register.

Re: my path

Hi Dreamtime :-) Funny that I find you here - I saw the 3D browser sig in my web logs and have been curious (of course) You mean the logs for your object path? I have been using your path for a while, I hope you don't mind  . It's not like there are a lot of people in here, and it was meant ...

Re: Calculator script

I don't get it: the function is declared "function notification (sender, args)", but you call it from VP with "activate notify calculator"? The object containing the script also has "create name calculator", so it sends a notification to the object with the name calculator. As I said, the API will ...

Calculator script

http://www.virtualparadise.org/screenshots/Virtual%20Paradise%20client/Version%200.2.9/Afbeelding%203.png This is still a bit messy and the API will probably change a lot but here is my calculator script for VP version 0.2.9. It has some limitations but it works most of the time :P For the display ...
